look up.

Wednesday 18 April 2012

Photographer, David Stephenson travelled throughout Europe between 2003 and 2009 to capture some of the world's most impressive ceilingscapes. The photographs are taken at an almost perfect orthographic angle,  flattening the perspective of the image. This means that these cavernous spaces are transformed into kaleidoscopic images, shifting the focus from volume to shape and pattern.

All of a sudden my reflected ceiling plans are looking a little ho-hum. Head to his website to see more.

All images via David Stephenson's website and discovered via Architizer.
