Artist, Michael Latimer says his work is not about the pursuit of pure aesthetics, but about satisfying his own soul. It appears that he's unintentionally achieved both. I don't disregard the emotional aspect of his work but for me, the fine lines (reminiscent of topographical maps) layered over delicate washes of sheer colour are an undeniable visual treat.
