design office, mud & vistoe

Tuesday 16 October 2012

I'm over on yellowtrace today interviewing the lovely guys from Design Office.

As a tasty little supplement to their q&a, here are photos of their very freshly completed retail fit-out for Mud Australia. These images are so super hot off the press I didn't quite manage to squeeze them into the yellowtrace post. This is Mud's first store outside of Australia. First international destination: Soho, New York. Hmm...something tells me these guys are on track for world domination.

Similarly to the Melbourne store, Design Office have used the Vitsoe shelving system. Sometimes (or often) the simplest solutions are best. This ultra neat modular system, with it's fine edged shelving and streamlined drawers, is elegant yet unobtrusive. This allows those delicious pastel and sorbet shades of ceramics to shine and cast their spell. And gosh, do they ever. Every time I'm in that store I find myself fabricating a list of "needs."
