hump day happy place: malmö apartment

Wednesday 10 October 2012

I'm not sure if this is a happy place so much as a source of supreme jealousy.

This apartment in Malmö was originally designed by Harald Bokuld in the late 1800s. The opulence of the painted ceiling, intricate plasterwork and the delicate pointed windows have only grown richer with time. Combine that with an immaculate mix of designer furniture and antiques from Paris and you're onto a winner. Oh gosh, I'm feeling so wooed by all the luxury right now.

For you fellow plebs out there (maybe I should call us design aficionados), you'll be happy to know that there are quite a few Ikea pieces thrown in amongst all those Bertoias and Tom Dixon pieces. So basically all I need is a bangin' heritage apartment and I'll be three quarters of the way there.
