warm metals.

Have I been brainwashed by the internet? My once firm commitment to silver and subdued, matte finishes is definitely on shaky ground as of late. Below is a collection of perfectly crafted, gold and brass objects, so beautifully designed that they're causing aberrations in my usual aesthetic language.

Although visually, these objects are a little shinier and brighter than my usual, they still have that quiet simplicity that really interests me. I'm definitely seeing golden tones in a new light. Think less "blingtastic" and more "warm, earthy glow."

From top: Set of 3 brass bowls from Dwell Studio, Gold paper bowl by Upintheairsomewhere, Brass bottle opener by Oji Masanori by Futagami from Neest, Diane Von Fursternberg Night cutlery set via, "Midas" gold dipped glassware by Front from Design Within Reach, 24 karat gold leaf hanging lampy by Lucas Peet, Isy Stick tap by Zuchetti, Brass pot trivets designed by Oji Masanori by Futagami from Mjolk.

PS. I know I promised to blog more about my kitchen but the thought of spending any more time talking about it makes me want to gouge my eyes out with a tile sample. If you're still hankering for some kitchen eye candy, stop by my Kitchen & Bathrooms board on Pinterest.
