hump day happy place: manysquaremetres.

Tuesday 5 June 2012

This Melbourne warehouse is an old wool store which has been converted into studio and exhibition spaces. As the name manysquaremetres suggests, it covers a huge floor area of 1200sqm.

This also happens to be the exhibition space for our latest project, GEYSER. The fabulous folks at manysquaremetres have ever so kindly offered us their gallery space as part of their msqmPresents program. How exciting is that?

I'm so looking forward to exhibiting there. Talk about warehouse heaven. Here, daylight plays the trusty accomplice. So rare for spaces of this size. The saw tooth roof allows light to penetrate into even the deepest corners. I also love how the light washed ceiling sails so high above a grid of columns and beams. And just look at the patina of the steel structure. It's as if this muted palette were planned all along. It also happens to works perfectly with the colours of my blog too. Ha! I'm convinced it was all meant to be.

They currently have vacant studio spaces so if you're interested, click here. Please spread the word in support of our sponsors.

PS. I also just realized this is the same space Big Scary's video for "Leaving Home" was shot. Such a strange coincidence because I've had their album on repeat all week. Watch the video here for some good tunes and a really great showcase of the space. (Saccharine confession: I may have squealed a tiny bit as I watched.)
