Australian artist, Nicholas Folland's sculpture entitled "Floe" is a suspended polar landscape. Made from a thousand pieces of second hand crystalware and woven nylon thread, the piece references ideas of climate change and the fragility of our earth.
Who would have thought those nana platters could be so intoxicating? The way the lighting works with the materials here is absolute gold. The fine striations of the thread, the water-like refracted light directly beneath and the mirrored reflection on the floor- I could gush on end about this glowing mass.
Psst...Weekend projects will go on a mini hiatus while my weekends are spent focusing on our installation. I have got a few weekend projects by others lined up though. Stay tuned!
