like butter

Wednesday 19 December 2012

Like Butter is a multi-disciplinary practice that deals with everything from furniture to lighting to film making.

I'm digging the simplicity of their furniture and lighting pieces, which use simple materials with considered detailing to produce unexpectedly elegant solutions. It helps that their stylist, Sonia Rentsch, has done a smashing job.

What makes these pieces even more appealing is that they're totally affordable. The boxes above are less than $35 each and the stools below are under $150. That's pretty darn rare for handcrafted furniture.

I discovered Like Butter via Assemble Papers who are giving away one of the stools below if you respond to their reader survey. So go forth and win. Unless I win, in which case I'm sorry. But also really not. In all seriousness though, check out the website if you haven't already. It's all about design for small footprint, sustainable living.
